Default I know, another oil thread.....

I know, another oil thread here.
But was just wondering what most of you guys run for oils ?
Harley Davidson oil, Amsoil, Mobil-1 4T, Mobil-1 V-Twin, Pennzoil, Bel Ray, Shell Rotella, etc. ???
I've been running Mobil-1 4T in my motorcycles in the past with good results, others I know have had good results with Shell's Rotella oils.
What do you guys run and have good luck with and bad luck with ?
Any that you should stay away from ?
Thanks,
Bobby.

Thanks,
I just read all 56 pages, and have come to find out that Mobil 1 V-Twin and Amsoil are the best for the engine, Mobil-1 75-90 for the transmission, and didn't find an all out answer for the primary ?
Also, I have a 2000 Harley Davidson Deuce with a big bore kit.
What filter should I use and what part number ?
I'm at less than 1000 miles/or a couple of weeks to go to my 30,000 mile service date.
Thanks for your help and info,
Bobby.

Redline MTL in the primary will give you a very smooth shift. (Google it).

OEM filter is just fine, likely the best.

I used to run 75/90 in my softail tranny, but I think that a heavier oil would be better, and do run a 75/140 in my SG now..maybe even try Red Line Shock Proof next time..

As far as primary oil I would stick with HD Formula +.

As far as an oil filter goes, it should be just a twin cam oil filter, nothing special I would think.

I run Wix oil filters in my autos, trucks, and heavy equipment, but heard that I shouldn't run a Wix filter on a motorcycle.
Any truth to this ?
Thanks, Bobby.

I just use the HD one as I bought the "HD billett oil wrench" as it fits their filter perfect and attaches to my 3/8th extension of my ratchet. No other reason really.

Primary doesn't need anything special so long as it isn't "energy conserving." all it's doing in the is lubing a chain and cooling a clutch, not very demanding for an oil. 10w-40 works well. I'm SURE one of our in house experts will disagree.
