Default Clutch Problem

How long should the clutch on my 2007 softail last?

it depends on you. i have 59k and still working fine. i use Motor Factory® Primary Case Lube

+1 to tk353. Depends on your skill, riding style, fluid type and interval...and maybe recognizing the need for adjustment before its too late.

Depends on how well you've kept it adjusted. The harley clutch is one of the strongest parts of your bike, until you let it get out of adjustment.

+, the adjustment procedure is stupid simple. Do it every service.

Thanks for the help Gent's. I think I let it go to long without adjusting... I guess it's time for a Hot Rod clutch!!! anyone have any recommendations... or should I go back with an HD clutch

did you adjust it in the primary to get your slack back??

First thing I did was loosen the cable, then I took the Derby cover off, loosened the locking nut on the clutch, I then used an Allen wrench on the adjuster bolt, loosened it all the way, then turned it back in until I felt it start to tighten, then turned it back 1/2 a turn and tightened the locking nut... put the cable back on the lever and tightened it up until I had about a 1/8" of slack in the lever.
