I am getting ready to put on a set of vh ss's and noticed that also.
I have a 09 x bones w/the same threaded "ghost" hole.
I guess our pigs were in the same run at york when the line went on lunch break!
Hehe.. Yeah, only mine is a 08, guess they have long lunchbreaks over there..
And yeah I know it was dirty. Just rode 300km in the rain. The picture was taken in a parking-garage at a hotel on friday. Had to ride 700km more on sunday ( wet roads and some rain ), so didn't bother washing her. She's clean now, but its hard work keeping these bikes clean. I'm used to sportsbikes where everything is covered by plastic, so I guess Im gonna have to pick up some cleaningtips on how to keep this lady shining.... Love working on bikes, but hate cleaning them. Thats why I bought the "dark series", less chrome
As I said, I don't think its a passenger peg-hole. Its "inside" the bike and it's only on the right side. Already got passanger pegs on, and thats not it....
I know the pictures are bad, but if you look at the last one, you can see the exhaust at the bottom, and that will give you an idea of where the hole is.
So if there's no other suggestions Im just gonna trust GymRat and not worry about it....
it is not for the passenger and because it is shiny i would say a cover or bolt fell out, check the dealer or someone here that has the same bike
Yeah, the shiny part was what made me wonder in the first place. But now there's two others with the same bike with the same hole, and one with a wireclip in it, so Im happy with the answers. Not gonna worry about it. And thanks Great forum with lots of activity. Nice to know that you don't have to wait for days for an answer.
Ohh yeah. And I ordered the service- and parts-manual last night. So when I get it, I can check what the hole's for....
