Default 2008 Cross Bones missing bolt?

Yo..

Got my hands on my first HD a couple of days ago. I now see that there's a hole ( with threads ) under the oiltank on the right side of the bike. It's in the frame, and its right in front of where the swingarm is attached. Just wondering if there's a bolt missing, or if this is an extra hole for something else.

The dealer I bought it from is about a thousand miles away, that's why Im asking here...

DON'T ask for an electronic service manual here. Its a good way to get your thread locked and possibly banned. It is greatly frowned upon to do that here......

Now for your question, its hard to say without a pic, but it sounds like you are describing the holes for either passenger pegs or the stock exhaust bracket.

GymRat523 ok thanks, didn't look like anything critical, and no its not for the passengerpegs.

Sorry about the manual-request....

A few "bad" closeups. Too close, but it was dark, so if I moved further back, I couldnt see the hole.

As I said, I don't think its a passenger peg-hole. Its "inside" the bike and it's only on the right side. Already got passanger pegs on, and thats not it....

I know the pictures are bad, but if you look at the last one, you can see the exhaust at the bottom, and that will give you an idea of where the hole is.

So if there's no other suggestions Im just gonna trust GymRat and not worry about it....

I have a clip there to hold the wires, guess they were tired and didn't feel like puttin it on yours or it fell off. It's not really needed so I wouldn't worry about it

I am getting ready to put on a set of vh ss's and noticed that also.

I have a 09 x bones w/the same threaded "ghost" hole.

I guess our pigs were in the same run at york when the line went on lunch break!
