Default jump from a 750

Hey guys I just finished the msf course but have been riding for a few months now...right now I have a vulcan 750 and would like to get a newer bike in the spring since this bike is a family "practice" bike. So after a few more months and miles of practice I. Would really like to make a jump to a bigger sized bike and I don't want to get a sporty because I'm sure ill out grow it. I really like the softails and had my eye on a couple deuces online. I was just wondering if this would be too much of a jump on account of the weight of the bike and if I should go down to a dyna. Anyway I'm 5'6 160 lbs if that matters. Thanks

I went from a 750 to a fatty with no issues. The deuce actually appears to be one of the smaller softails. Get what you want or you will just be starting over in a few years.

I rode a Honda 750 for three years. I just got a Heritage. The weight is no issue and it fits like a glove................KC

Prior to getting a Fatboy, I had not ridden in 20+ yrs. You will have no problem with any HD.

Weight of any Softail shouldn't be an issue. They're pretty well balanced and you won't even notice the 700 lbs under you. Get whatever fits you best.

I don't know why the myth of starting small continues. unless you're too small or too weak for a softail or dyna, get one and get riding. there are lots of us that haven't ridden for 20 - 30 years and jumped on a "full sized" bike.

Yea You will be fine! it's just the mind game that gets you, the softails are real easy to handle, I had a sporty before I got my fatboy, and the fatboy feels easier to me since it fits me better. also rode a shadow 1100 for a month while I was trying to sell it, they sit high, not sure how the vulcans sit, but even though the shadow 1100 was lighter then the fatboy it was harder to handle then the fatboy, didn't even realise it untill I got on the fatboy. if you want a softail, get a softail! No worries,
