Default how do they handle????

After years of riding old bikes, thought I would get me a softail, find a 1300 mile 2008, ready to make the deal and at the coffee table at work someone says they have a handling quirk in the turns…is this true, that’s the last thing I want! Also is there a lot of maintenance to the swing arm? Anything to know about the twin cam motor?
Thanks guys newest bike I owned was an early 78 low-rider, (that bike didn’t like high speed turns,) at a point in life I just want to push the button and go.
Thanks again…Rudy

Don't know where they heard that stuff as I've been on forums ever since I bought my Heritage in 2007 and never heard a bad word with regards to handleing or swingarm maintenance. What exactly is the "quirk" that they make mention of?

They handle like a dream!!!

Morning Rudy,

I currently ride a 2008 Heritage and have no issues with either the handling or swinging arm. Re handling yes the footboards scrape sometimes particularly when going round r/bouts as ground clearance is not the best but this is not a problem at all, you just get used to it. No known quirks as far as I am concerned.

Re swinging arm I have never had a problem.

I would definitely recomend a softail.
Cheers

Cheers

Col

Some of the Touring and Dyna models developed a wobble in turns because of the swing arm mounted to the engine, and the engine rubber mounted.
Softails are solid, no wobbles. No maintenance to swing arm and the twin cam is basically problem free and bullet proof.

My '04 Heritage handles like a dream, and we have a lot of terrible roads here in cent IL.

Go to the nearest dealer and test one, or two.
