I went from a softail to a FLHX, and couldn't be happier.
Have you rode it yet, or is that just your perception of it.
I'd about bet that even though it looks bigger to you, it handles better.
Mine did/does...

The dealer won't let you test ride the StreetGlide. the local dealer here rents bikes so they let people test ride different bikes. maybe go back in January if you really want a streetglide. probably get a better deal. I baught my first harley in january, (Sportster) the dealer knocked 3500 off of the asking price, wanted 8,500 but sold it to me for 5,000. little did they know I needed the bike. it was my only transportation at the time.

What is it that made you look for a new bike anyway? What's wrong with your Fatboy? Certainly it's not worn out yet.

Ride it. Theres a girl at work who rides a fully dressed electraglide, 98 I think it is. she always has all the bags and lugauge compartments on it, the windscreen is tinted so it's hard to see her when she comes in the long driveway, she is around your hight 5'6 or 5'7 and I would bet she weighs less. always rides into work bumping some country music. she looks small on the bike but she makes it fit her. if it's what you want, get it.
