So, I bought a set of Hooker Troublemakers off the forum (thanks RA51

) and installed them last night. In the ad, it was listed that I would have to use my own retaining ring and manifold clamp because the ones that came with the pipes were a little warped. Okay, no biggie. I went to take the retaining ring and clamp off of my Thunderheaders and had quite a bit of trouble, so I decided to use the slightly warped ones to see if they would seal all the way. So, I installed the Toublemakers and didn't hear any leaking and the clamp seemed to tighten down pretty far, but did notice the pipes were popping quite a bit on deceleration. I just attributed it to the different pipes and the ECM needing to be adjusted. I basically started it up, revved it up a couple times and let it be for the night.
Today, I decided to (after thinking about it more) swap out the warped clamp with the ones that were on the bike and are straight for the "final" installation. I also double checked the O2 sensors and got another 1/8 of a turn or so out of them. When I started the bike this time, there was no decel popping whatsoever.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm no mechanic, but the way I understand it the "popping" is from the engine running too rich. Would the warped clamp somehow have caused the popping? Maybe exhaust was leaking and causing the O2 sensors to read off? Maybe something happened with the O2 sensors when I tightened them down a little more?
I don't currently have a fuel pak/Power Commander/Mastertune...but probably should...

I had thought about it when I purchased the pipes and the initial popping just made me believe even more that I should get a tuner. Now, I'm not sure if I need to, as the popping has stopped.
Thanks in advance!
