Went to Vegas last week on my Lo and got 225 miles per tank on the freeway at about 80 mph (that's 45 mpg). However...I ride it to work 20 miles round trip every day, no freeways, and only get about 180 miles per tank (that's 36 mpg). But I'll admit...I enjoy my ride to work...
Here's what I do... little light comes on... pull into the station and fill er up.
Dang, 17.50, maybe 20 bucks ( CDN) never really know, always a nice surprise.
Head out, when the little light comes on I repeat the process.
On an 07 NT I got over 50 mpg last spring on the way back from a run. We were only going 60-65 mph. I guess that was the sweet spot for the bike. It was tuned with the TTS Mastertune and had Hooker pipes. Other than that it was stock.
Looks like at least some late model Softail owners here have managed to hit 50mpg. The main difference I see compared to my Heritage is no windshield. And probably no wind deflectors either.
I run with both windshield and wind deflectors on my Heritage at all times. Mostly because it's easier to clean the bugs off the windshield than my jacket
