Actually I got a much better torque range out of my 1 3/4's I just put on my bike. This is versus the 2 1/4 I was running. Not an increase in power but a more usable range. 2 1/4 pipes on these motors are really over kill. No need for it. But they sure look good. Now of course a good 2 into 1 will kill just about any pipe. 2 1/4's also have a deeper sound which a lot of riders like. This is just my experience so someone else may feel different. I am also running the same washer trick baffles (just like big city thunder) in my new pipes as I ran in the old.

Mimo.
the head pipe diameter of the Samson's are 1 3/4" just like the Paughco's. they do make a good product. what you see on our system are the heat shields themselves which are 2 1/2" diameter. we understand flow is very important to retain torque so we keep the head pipe to the 1 3/4" diameter. ours also have removable baffles. we used to make the small diameter pipe and still like the design but we we found many more people like the fat heat shield now than we did when we made them without heat shields.
thank you,
JR

100% agreed.

So your pipes are actually a one piece assy? (leaving the baffles out of the blue-print of course)??

Mimo.

Samson upsweeps are not a one piece assembly at all. there are the head pipes, baffles, and heat shields to cover everything up.
thank you,
JR

Thanks, THATS what I was looking for, a few options!!!

GymRat...perfect picture, helps to get a feel for what they would look like on my bike, your bike is close to what I want for overall look....the Sampsons certainly have a lot of votes as the pipe to get...my daughter usually rides with me, how are the pipes for passenger given location of rear cylinder pipe?

Hspring-Awesome bike...assume your Paughos are drag pipes, no baffles? And didnt notice any heat shields, so wondering same thing, how bad is heat for passenger?

DaddyKnuckles....tks for tip, was restricting my search for old Evo motor compatibility, didn't realize head pipe would work on either? Brackets no issue, bike will have a few mods before done :-)

DarkTrac....Wild Pipes!!! What are they?

Tks again to all from a newbie to Evo's....all others were Shovels, and like a totally new learning curve..

Shawn
