Default Crossbones Fair Pricing

I bought my 2010 Crossbones new, didn't get the best deal, but it was found money so I didn't complain. Problem is I haven't been able to get comfortable on it. Different seats, extensions, etc. Way too frustrated, just want to move on.

I know if I take it a stealership I'll be totally SOL. There's a local company that buys bikes that offered 13500. I'd like to get 15500, but not sure how realistic based on what I've seen from other Craigslist and eBay ads.

What do you think?

i paid 15,900 for mine new here in canada i would have thought it would be much cheaper down there..find the bike that is comfortable and put the seat and bars on the xbones..seats and bars are changable for personal comfort not many bikes will be perfect they all take tweaking to get them right
i hated the stock seat everytime i hit the throtle i slid off the seat .i went with the 1925 style seat its deeper i dont slid and its way more comfortable then the so called touring seat that comes on it..i have 5k on it this season so far..way comfy no sore *** after an hour or so..
as for floorboards they are in same location as deluxe or fatboy they are just shapped different ..if you go to a deluxe or fatboy seat the bars may be to high ,but they sell narrow beach bars or just shorter mini apes..eitherway figuring it out will be cheaper than the hit you will take trading it in
just my .02

I'll echo the colonel, I think you're going to take a bath on the deal. Not that there aren't plenty of people who do that... Just sayin'.

If you are swapping for another bike, my guess would be to talk to the dealership about what they'd give you on trade, and that's your bottom line. You'll be lucky to get more than that on CL or Ebay, people just know what the bottom value is these days and are shopping only for deals.

my $0.02.

Cheaper to keep it and make it work. I rented a bones several times before I bought mine, I knew right away it was the perfect fit and comfort for me. The only thing I've done for "comfort" was to replace with a 25 seat. NOt that the stocker wasn't comfortable...just that it doesn't hold you in the seat very well.

Love my bones...they can have it when they pry it from my cold dead hands....

Why in the fat fu@k would you buy a bike that you weren't comfortable on to begin with? Sorry man, you asked...

I did my demo and I was perfectly fine! I did short rides for the first few months and that was fine too. It wasn't until I did more than 10 miles of riding that i ran into issues. That's when I started with the extensions, different seats, etc.

Talked to the dealer, the guy was useless. Appreciate all of your input.

You don't mention why the bike is uncomfortable for you. At the end of the day the Bones is a Softail, and as such you can ultimately make it fit you any way you want. I've found that little things can make a big difference. I recently switched bars and after riding around for a few days I raised them about an inch (at the ends). A completely different and much more comfortable ride. Giving up and selling now will cost you a lot more than any combination of seats, bars and pegs I can think of.
