found a cool site for getting cables, the ones I needed are back ordered though www.handlebarcables.com The drag specialties rep that services our shop swears by it

I picked up a Fatboy with 18" apes that are WAY too tall for me. If I install 12" apes will I need longer cables? Let me know. Thanks.

Not likely, they are gonna be all kinds of swingin in the air! If ya had a dresser or roadking, a few inches can be hidden in the fairings and nacelle, but with the softail it is all out in the open and needs to be the right size....its both an astetics and safety issue.

You will need shorter cables.
