Fat boy vs Fat boy lo

I bought my Lo last november. My prevoius bike was a Fatboy. I like the look of the Low better but as others have stated, the Fatboy is the better suspension. I have also noticed w/ the Lo, the rear wheel slides out to the right immediately upon hard braking vs the Fatboy being able to skid a good 10 feet. Both are fun at low lean angles!!! Either choice, we're better off than those poor bastards who don't own a Harley!!!

I like the standard FB that's why I got one. Like Shakedeal stated there is just something about the Lo that HD didn't quite finish that makes me walk away from it. It is your bike and you have to decide. Take a ride on both and see which one makes you smile more. Let us know how you decide.

3 things - looks, bars and seat. No flat black Fatboy this year just on the Lo. More like a drag bar on the Lo and beach bar on the FB. And most the "low" comes from the seat - the bike is less than a 1/2 in closer to the ground.
Depends on what ya like. Go for looks then take em both for a test ride.
Easy choice for me - chrome will get ya home and they did not make the Lo back in 09. I think I did better than the Motor Co.

You make it seem like the Lo is so radically different. The seat height is only 1/2 inch or so lower. As for the ride, adjust the preload to your liking. Not that it matters but I park next to very expensive well customized bikes. I'm told that when I pull away they all say how cool the Denim Lo is. One guy, who owns mega buck customs actually told me this. We started talking and he said it's the old school look. I have beach bars and some subtle changes that really make it look nostalgic.

Hi 1hellbent I hope you dont mind, Im an almost a new HD owner. Reading this post make me feel like I made a mistake but I still have time to switch.
Last Friday I put down a deposit for a Faboy Lo with Vivid Black, however over the weekend I have been rethinking everything and I really leaning towards the Fatboy standard now. Like you said, there is something on the Lo that does not make me smile. From what I have read, both bikes rides the same and eventually if I wanted to I could lowered the standard anyways and buy the Lo seat so I can have the best of the two worlds.
In the beginning I thought I could work my way to chrome easily but like I said over the weekend I did a lot of comparison between the two and Boy, it will be very expensive to change (mirrors, turn signals, pegs,bags support bracket, exhaust, front light housing etc etc. ) I think I will be a lot easier and cheaper to tone down the chrome, I like chrome but for me its a little too much).
Now the other problem I have is that the dealer has my deposit and the bike is suppose to arrive from another dealer this coming Tuesday, I think I still have time to stop the delivery and order the standard but with the only problem that I wont be able to test ride the standard at this level of the game unless I run to another dealer and test ride but I feel pretty confident that both bikes are almost identical. Im 5"11 so I'm not a short guy, since the standard is a little taller)
I know Im the only one that needs to make the decision but I just need to make sure writting this post that Im not missing anything on my thoughts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ! from anyone here in this forum

JB1205, if you like the ride of both, then just go for the looks. Because of future add-ons you have planned, it seems like you're tending to the regular Fat Boy, and I would be surprised if the dealer gave you a tough time about switching. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Btw, if I had that gal with the banana that 1hellbent has, I probably would probably still have only 300 miles on the bike since the original thread was started 4+ years ago. He's a lucky guy!

To me they ride the same, the difference in ride height is negligible. Either you want chrome or black. I liked the lo but I did some looking around and couldn't find the parts I liked in a flat black finish. I wanted to be just flat black, no mixing and matching of gloss and flat. There isn't anyone near me that does powder coating. So I ended up with chrome. They both suck to clean. Pick your poison.
