Had big shot shorts.. hated them.. short drags with no crossover.. The staggereds are a completely different animal.. from bikes I've heard, they sound great, and I'm told they run great.. Ain't hard on the eyes either.
LOVE the pipes. They look great. THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT. They are very easy to install. Just make sure to use a new gasket. They will also increase your HP over stock pipes.
I love mine! Besides, the guy I bought my bike from had them already installed with quite baffles and only had 100 miles on them. He told me that he could put the stock pipes back on or leave the V&H pipes on for an extra $200. Needless to say, I gave him the extra $200. Plus, he threw in the stock baffles for free. I'm thinking about putting the stock baffles in because I want it a little louder. Don't think I will have to re-jet the carb....baffles are baffles, right? I shouldn't loose any back pressure/performance, right?
Loved mine, easy to install, perfect fit, great sound....loud and proud. Definite HP/TQ increase. I did pipes only first and then added the A/C and PC. Here's a shot of it with my Kuryakin "Full Dresser" bag on the removable rack/sissybar.
dealer is putting mine on today but I have a quick stupid question. what goes in the two threaded holes in the pipes? the PCIII came with O2 eliminators but they don't appear to fit the threaded hole.....so what does go in there since nothing was in the nut and bolt pkg that look like it would fit those holes?
I just removed the o2 sensors from the stock exhaust and installed them in the new exhaust. Someone may make a plug for these though. Just hide the wires from the o2's. I tucked the wire for the front o2 down inside the regulator cover and hid the rear sensor wire under the oil tank. The o2 eliminators plug in where the original o2's did.
