I replaced the brake pads a couple weeks ago as they were squeeling and wore down. Despite replacing them they still squeel. I cleaned them off with brake cleaner to no avail. Ideas?
Had the loudest, most obnoxious squeal. Frikin hated it. Tried everything several times - beveling edges, sanding them down to seat better, cleaned rotors, deglazed rotors, lubed pins and pads, checked for warped rotors, cleaned pistons, sanded pad pins for smoothness. Decided it was a no go and gave up. A couple thousand miles later - they rarely have a very faint squeal/squeak.
I had this problem when I switched to Lyndall pads. They sent me three new sets and it still didn't stop the squealing. I also tried the spray adhesive and that didn't work either. Finally got to a guy at Lyndall and he sent me some stuff to put on the back of the pads. It was a pale yellow in color and it was kind of thick. You put it on with the little brush applicator and it dries solid like glue. Stopped the squealing!

The maintenance book (or Clymer, or an internet site) can't remember.. but one of them recommended you put anti-sieze on the back same stuff that you put on your axle before you slide the wheel, it works as high end grease as well.
It works great to silence things !.
I really hope this stuff is not glue, you will find out the next time you want to replace your pads .
