Default Painting Prices?

Been in the market for a while ..and found a vivid black deluxe that I like..has the options that I want AND is priced well. I want a two tone paint job on it, so does anyone have a ballpark idea of how much a two tone paint job would cost..perhaps matching the two-tone blue/black that harley offers?

I really don't like the all black. Thanks..

Also, I prob would not be able to pull off the parts myself.

All depends who is doing it, how many coats, quality of paint…… Take a look at my chop… A tank & rear fender cost me I believe about 500.00. I’m sure that is cheap compared to others. I hope you can find someone to do what you want from 450-800 if you’re lucky.

Not crazy about all black?... Have some pinstripe work on it

If you’re not taking the parts off…… Add 2-3 hours labor if they like you and up to six if they do not…. So you could be looking at 800-13k to get a bike painted that might not need it yet…. Think on it…. Ride safe….Good luck

Check ebay for some take off tins. you might be lucky!

Then sell the original ones of yours and make back some money.

I'm letting it done this winter. I have a black pearl deluxe and I ad glacier white and the silver pinstripe. What I did is that I have a pointed out a bike that is the mark for the quality I want for my bike. Because you can never tell how many layers of paint will go on the bike. By adding a color there will be an little height difference between the two paint jobs. I have to pay here in The Netherlands 1500 dollar.

If you are looking for a turn-key job, meaning ride it to the shop, ride it out finished.......for a quality factory type two-tone with pinstripes and tank decals, expect to pay $1400 and up. The labor can be just as intensive as a simple custom job, most people opt for some custom work instead of stock. Nobody drools over the stock two-tone at bike night, unless its a pristine 1956 or something like that.

All our paint is clearcoated and buffed until there is no noticable line in the paint where the colors meet. Also a legal tax-paying shop will have to charge more than the guy who does this as a side job.

A factory two-tone paint job will add some value to the bike. They cost more new, it won't add enough to cover the cost of doing it, but if you stick with colors and decals relative to the year model of the bike, it could add a few hundred dollars to the value at resale. Just remember, the VIN will tell how it left the factory.
We do repairs and repaints on stock bikes for a few dealerships. You can't tell what we did, and what came from the factory.
