Boy, Oh Boy, Get the Fat Boy, Boy! It's just the best darned bike on the road today. It is, and It does, and It will be everything you want it to be. I wouldn' t trade mine for anything. JMO, of course. You really should ride them both, like Marcus said. Good luck. This is a great problem to have.

The Fatboy is a little smoother on the highway due to having an FL front end. However, cool people ride bikes with FX fronts like the Night Train.

Call around and get the 06 SE Fatboy. They will drop their price and that is one bike that will set you free.--------but, the 07 Train with some added goodies is about the coolest thing out there.

Two very different bikes, though both are softails... Not perfect, by any respect for everything but pretty cool for some things.

Gotta ride them to know the differences.. 21" skinny tire on the night train vs. fat 16" tire on the fatboy.. I prefer big FL front wheels for a little more rubber on the road (fatboy, heritage, tourbikes, etc) but that is a personal preference. You gotta ride them to know. Don't let handlebars and seats ultimately sway you as they can be changed fairly easy. I have a fatboy but to me, the stock handlebars are unrideable.. no sweat, I just swapped them out. Also, you might like floorboards over pegs or vice versa.. It's a tough one but it's reeeeally about which bike fires you up. Which one can you not stop gawking over. That'll be the one. But given the fact they're both pretty much the same frame and drivetrain, having ridden a softail standard, I can say they sit, ride and handle very differently. Got to test them out.. Otherwise, just take a chance. Good luck and whichever you go for, ride safe.

Well, owning one I can say I love my Fatboy. However, I can't stand the '07 models. So if you're looking at an '07, I'd go with the night train. This is purely opinion and based on looks...NOT fit/feel. You really should try renting them. It's worth a few hundred bucks to ride one more than just around the block.

Go with what fits your riding preference and style. As said, alot can be changed out and customized after you pick your base.
