Default Quick Connect on Fuel Tank

I just started putting my Deuce back together since changing my bars and running the wires internally. When I pulled the tank I pulled the fuel pump fuse, started the bike till it stopped, drained the tank and pulled it. When I put everything back together.....I slid the coupler on the bottom of the tank back and snapped the fuel line back in. When I did this a lot of fuel leaked out and just kept dripping, but eventually stopped. Is this normal? I would expect a little to come out put it dripped for awhile after it was snapped in. I have not put any fuel in the tank yet. I see an oring in the fuel line and it looks good. I was wondering if it is because there is no fuel/pressure in the line? Similar to an air hose leaking until pressure is applied. Any ideas or should I just put fuel in and see what happens?

When snapped into place it should not leak at all except when you first pop it on it may drip or spray a little fuel if there is pressure on the tank side. I would say somethings a mis. To check it, have it outside and energize the pump for a few seconds (turn switch on, but don't spin the starter) and see if it leaks. It maybe OK and just needed to seat in. Be careful and once again do it outside the garage.
