Hello from Arkansas. I just stepped up to a 05 FXST from a sporty. The wife decided that she wanted a sportster and the one I had was perfect. So she insisted that I buy myself something bigger and better.
I should add that my wifes first Harley was a 2007 Sportster. She rode it to Sturgis and back the first year she had it, about 1200 miles one way. Not many people can say they did that on a Sporty.
Well she kept it one year and I convinced her to get rid of it and get a 2008 Deluxe. She likes it 100% better. It is smoother, has a lower center of gravity and more power. Anyway it worked out a bunch better and has now made two more trips to Sturgis. The trip in 2009 took in 11 states and over 4200 miles before returning home. Getting on a bike every day and riding several hundred miles requires a good fit to your bike.
Well glad your both riding and have fun.
