Well after a long night and today in the metal shop I finished my custom tank shift. Man I thought I could have done this in about 8 hours but took me 22 hours with just the fab work. That is including the foot clutch setup also. What cha guys think? I will be chroming this stuff this winter so shake paint for now.
Shift linkage fireman style...
Foot clutch setup I came up with. I moved floor boards about 2" forward while I was at it.
Wow. That looks great. I love the axe for the lower portion of the tank shifter. You better be careful or you might end up making those for people here. No put that clutch cable on and ride the thing. Don't forget to video the first ride! LOL.
Now that you have a tank shift foot clutch setup you have to stop referring to it as a suicide...JMHO. You siren will not be shipping until Monday. I have been unable to get it boxed up and out yet. Sorry about that, but I am so busy...
No problem brotha. Thanks for the cable and pics of you setup. Took it all off and painting it for the show next Saturday. Going to be a few days till the first ride. Having to pull the clutch apart to replace the push rod and fluids.
Now that you have a tank shift foot clutch setup you have to stop referring to it as a suicide...JMHO.
The original foot clutch set-ups built by Harley, locked in the released position...when the lock was removed it was referred to as a "suicide clutch"...so if yours doesn't lock it is a suicide...JMHO
