After parking my bike for the day, I come out the next morning to find a very small line of gas running down from the corner of the dash (left side) onto the tank. Seems to happen when the tanks 3/4 to full but I'm not entirely sure. Any similar problems out there? Thanks.
I had that happen after spilling gas on the top of my tank and it gets up under the dash (that and a lot of cussing). What year is your bike? Older EVO softails had seperate tanks with a top crossover line under the dash. That could be the problem and would be an easy fix.
Bike's an 05 Deluxe. Does that bike have the crossover line? I spilled gas while filling a few months ago. Wouldn't that have all evaporated by now? This drip seems to be hit and miss and I think it happens mostly when the tank is over half full. Really starting to take its toll on my tank bib. Is removal of the dash easy? Thinking that's probably the next step. Really appreciate the feedback.
There is a crossover but not under the dash so that's not it. The only thing I can think of other than a spill is the vent tube is perhaps spitting but that would have to be under some sort of pressure and perhaps blocked to do that, so I would doubt it.
So, if it is not a spill, the only other answer I could come up with would be a crack in the tank, again I doubt it.
Either way, pull the dash and take a look, its too easy of a job not to at least look.
Your 09 will not have a top crossover. Do what doghair said and remove the dash and bib to look for leaks. I honestly have never had mine off but take the top nut off and you may need to unscrew the speedo trip button on the left side. But it should not be hard. Just enough to get a good look.
If it's coming from under the dash, the gasket on the FI assembly could be worn.
I was looking in my manual. There is a plate under there with torx screws in it. Is that what you are talking about? Did not want to mention something since I have never seen it.

That's what I'm referring to....
If the gasket is worn or pinched it could be leaking from under there.
Here's an image I pulled off the net
