What have you done to help prevent the 5th gear clatter?

 

Try changing the oil, twist the right grip a little more. They are straight cut gears so they do rattle and whine, I do think the Baker unit has heilical cut gears and is quieter. I think you need a louder exaust, I can't hear mine

. I've changed the oil once. What is the thickest oil I can put in there

 

No probs with mine changed to redline pink stuff buy didnt have a prob with HD either
