All I have done to the ride was swap out factory bars to HD Street Slammers but since then my front end is wobbleing out of control. I did NOT swap the cables that should be shorter and wondering if the excess is putting pressure on the front end making it go crazy? Never had a problem until the bar swap. I know my break line is to long and most likely the others but can/will this cause head shake??? I am really stumped on this one. I am thinking the extra length is adding pressure to the front but not 100% sure. As I said this is all I did. Anyone????
I dont think its your cables, I switched out my risers awhile back and my cables where long and I didnt have a problem with wobble. Check yout tire presure, retorq everything down. Im sure its a simple fix.
Thanks but the tire pressure is right on and everything (the riser bolts) and so are also bang on. I do not get stumped often but this one has me by the ba**s!
OK I will check it in the am but this makes Noooo sense. The thing ran/rode like a charm before but now it feels totally unsafe! I can't put my fingure on this one.
Just in from the garage. Checked the riser bolts and all are spot on! This thing rode like a charm before the bar change but now::::
It feels like if I turn right I am fighting the bike the whole time. I am thinking the cables/break line as they are around 2 to 3" to long. I did not put a tape to them so that is only a juess but something is not right. It is like going from a Caddie to a VW bug with a bad stearing problem.... .
I know the 07 fatboy's had issues with the front wheels as a friend just went through this, but by 2010 this was long since fixed. I think you otter take it in for "warranty" work.
Im no expert but maybe the problem is with the riser bushings? If so, it would cause some probs like your describing. I would also as a precautionary measure replace the grade 8 bolts while your at it.
