Default Poly riser bushings sloppy

Can't figure out why I have so much play in the poly bushings I installed. Way more than the stock rubber ones. I can easily rock the risers about 3/16".

I noticed when I was putting them in that they had more clearance inside the tube than the stock ones but I figured once they were torqued down they'd spread out. Didn't happen. I used the original washer cups and center tube. Torqued them 45lbs. Got them from Dennis Kirk and the part number checks out okay.

Before I stick the rubber ones back on anyone have any ideas.

No ideas, but my poly's have more play than I expected, but definitely less than my rubber ones.

When I installed my 16" Carlinis I used their poly bushings as well.I too have more play than seems normal.I am looking forward to seeing some replies.I just kept telling myself it was because the bars are so heavy and tall. But it still doesnt make me feel any better when Im ridding down the road.

I just installed tights poly bushings in mine, and they are solid, no movement at all. It doesnt sound rite that there was more clearance than the stock ones. Interesting, dunno, if you got the rite ones they should be snug, maybe just a slight movement, but not like you described. The torque is rite also. Somethings not rite. By the way, I have carlinis 1 1/2 18inchers, BIG bars, and I dont have but just a tad of play. Maybe a 32nd

Tighten up your riser bolts. They can loosen up or if not all the way tight the bars will have play.

Are you sure they are all the way tight? My poly bushings give no play at all when the riser bolts are all the way tight.

I have them torqued 5 over spec but I'll take a look tomorrow and see if more helps. I figured this sort of play couldn't be normal especially since I'm not even running apes.

I got mine from Hill Country custom for 9.95. They were snug going in, with no play and once tightened to spec, I have no play at all. Something doesn't sound right with yours.
