Ok so im waiting for my heartland 280 kit for my rocker to be done (shawn at dr v twin said it will be any day now) and figure its time to order my chrome inner primary and swingarm. So i go on ebay to see if there are any dealers selling any on there.I find the swing arm and primary for good prices when I think to my self I might as well get the chrome oil tank to.(I like chrome) I type in part#62552-09 No items mach your search. Ok I go on harleys website type in part#62552-09....No items match your search. WTF..... Did harley stop making the chrome oil tank for the rockers and if so why......

I'm not sure about the oil tank, but be careful of aftermarket chrome. Had a bad chromed inner primary, and after buying a new starter, complete jackshaft assembly and both bushings for inner and outer, I finally figured out it was the chromed aftermarket inner primary that was manufactured wrong. You should be fine as long as you stay with the HD part # stuff, but the chinese made chrome parts are junk, especially with things you need to make sure line up properly. Is that the exact part number you need for the oil tank? I can't remember if chromed parts and polished aluminum parts go by two different part numbers or not. This may be the case with the chromed and painted oil tanks. Not sure.

I've seen Rockers with the painted oil tank, but also having 3 horizontal chrome strips on the tank which looked great.

Go here and search that part number.

$630 instead of the $700 another would charge you.

I paid more than that for my BR bars.
I love chrome as you can tell from my bike, but the chrome oil tank just doesn't fit the look I'm going for. I'd have one if it did.
I added just a little by using chrome trim between the ribs. Maybe it's because I love the painted tank on my Rocker?

Chrome oil tank is a good addition if you got the 700.00 as spare change but I would reccomend doing cams, top end, machine work if I were you. I got a warranty replacement and opted for the 2007 springer oil tank (which is identical to the Rocker oil tank) original tank had a crack in the paint. I did not pay a dime for it ....but the ticket was for a whoping total of 1K with labor!
