Default Deluxe Bare Bones and PC placement

Help! Ok, I know dozens of you guys have the LePera Bare Bones seat on your Luxes, AND i know some of you are using a power commander. Now my question, where the heck did you mount your PC? The directions say it velcroes (mine is zip tied) to the top of the ECM, but when i have it there, the seat hits it. I've tried moving it to the top of the battery, which I know some people have done, but it doesnt work there, either.

I've got another ECM pan coming frmo Fuel Moto, but I'm starting to think I dont need that, as this IS the replacement pan that comes with the PC kit.

So how do you guys do it? Where do you put the power commander so that the bare bones sits flush with the fender?

Thanks,
Mack

Well.. after reading more and tearing everything apart, i realized that the PCIII cannot sit on the ECM where they reccomend it. So i did what some of you have done and installed it on the inside of the plastic splash guard behind the oil tank. It wasn't too much of a PITA, and now the bare bones sits flush and looks friggin great!

I have the PCV on top of the battery I think the PCIII is quite a bit larger than the PCV

On top of the battery was the first thing i tried, but it was still too tight.

Drew, you have a Deluxe dont you? Curious if the deeper ECM tray solved this issue for you. I still have a deeper tray coming from Fuel Moto, but I was anxious to mess with it today.

When the new tray comes i will measure the difference between it and the tray that came with the PCIII.

I'll let you all know how it goes. With pics.

Here's the update:

I tried placing the PCIII on top of the battery, but there still wasn't the clearance required to fit the seat properly.

I read, and re-read the PCIII install instructions and finally decided I'd have to follow the solution listed for other bikes, as the method of laying it on top of the ECM (even with a deeper tray) was too tall.

So i re-located the PCIII to the front side of the splash guard behind the oil tank. It was a PITA to remove the guard w/o a jack, but I accomplished it.

Not a fan of zip ties, so i opted to use aviation grade safety wire (being that I'm an avaition guy, lol) to hold it in place.

Here's the final product!

And the PCIII safety wired to the splash guard...

Works great!
