then your fine...when you open up the a/c then you need a tuner, the k&n isnt sucking too much air in the stock form, only diff is you can clean your filter now, but if you open it up you will need a tuner and you will gain horses, but you will have to buy a round a/c...im taking it your k&n is the same shape as stock right now???
The factory EFI system will only adjust in the closed loop mode, i.e., idle or low load constant like at cruise. It is open loop mode all other times and not monitoring data from the O2 sensors. That's why you need a tuner, to adjust A/F and, more importantly, timing under all conditions, i.e., high and low load conditions.
I was thinking about buying a harley race tuner, I like these ones because they do not attach to the bike you just tune and go?
The SERT is a nice piece of equipment but not real user friendly to the uniintiated; you will need to get the bike on a dyno for retunes. The TTS Mastertune is from the same guys that developed the SERT and the TTS is a bit more user friendly with the Vtune feature.
You really shouldn't run the bike setup that way without some kind of ECM upgrade.
It runs a bit too lean in stock form and your added 'goodies' can only make that condition worse.
Yes the ECM will retune, but it has limits and you are so close to exceeding them now all it would take is some really cold air to push it beyond its capacity.
In "MY OPINION" (and opinions are like a-holes everyone has one and they all stink) once you fool around with the intake its not worth the risk and you need to do something about it before anything gores wrong.
And you'll get a few extra usable ponies for your efforts.
sorry to butt in but,.. am i correct i have a 08 RC with V&H slip ons want to get the k&n air breather kit the round one with make your own cover like in the other thread. i need the v&h fuel pack & tuned via pc . yes /no
