You might check out Lindby at www.lindbycustom.com and then look into Desert Dawgs for use in cooler or damp weather. I do enjoy the Dawgs. Maxrdr (a fading LD rider)
Harley still lists these on their web site. It is a little hard to find. I typed in engine guard after putting in my model and year. I have one on my 99 FXSTC, which I think is a Harley engine guard.
Why do you think that you need one?
I had my softail for 8+ years and never really needed an engine guard.
Now on the glide bikes, a little different story....and a lot more weight...
Oh and if yoiu look on ebay you can find them.
Lindby does not make them for fxstc's.

The one in my photos is from Lindby for sure and it was for FXST* family.
As for why, well, in my case, it was first year after damaging my right leg and bones were not fully healed , titanium rod, tissue implants and all, doctors said one more fall and my leg is out.
And if you have those it 'could' save your leg in a situation like this and I did have them for a year and a half until my bones all healed.
Peace

I attended an accident scene last summer where a girl on a Kawi cruiser collided with a deer. The critter's head shattered her knee. I figured if she'd have had a guard on her bike she might not have been hurt at all.
The other reason, is I would really like a set of highway pegs so I can move around a bit on long trips. That's not as important since I bought my geezer glide. I don't put nearly as many miles on the old softie.

That may be for your TC, but he has an evo as did I, and you do your searching and you will find that the Lindby "Highway Bar" as it's called only fits 2000 & up, first year of the TC softails. 99 was the last year of the evo softails and that is what I had.
Peace..

Glad you found it.
I got buddies who have taken their EG off their glides, but boy I sure wouldn't want to.. Those are some heavy bikes, nice and smooth when their going but hard to get going from a stop, especially if there's turning to do.
