Socket set and Loctite...it's still the original hardware. I took the bags off and the rear seat/sissy bar and only put the bags back on it...been that way now for ages.
So, for the top pic of the 3 that you posted, you took the original 4 "posts" (2 on each side) that the saddlebags slide on to, off? Never thought of that. Cool! I took my saddlebags off and was looking at those posts sticking out...[:'(] Was looking at getting a quick-detachable system though.

When I took the bags off er, I bought a couple of replacement bolts and took off the 4 posts the bags mount to and replaced them with the standard bolts. I realized I use my bags too much to do without 'em and put post and the bags back on. The bags will probably not come off again...I use the hell out of em.
Man! Thanks guys for all the positive comments on my scooter. Means a lot to me coming from fellas with bikes as nice as y'alls, there are some fine lookin' Heritages out there!
Bobros - you said "I wonder what it would like like with beach bars"... It'd look, well, like a Deluxe with different paint and big bags! I like the feel of the mini-apes whan riding better than the beach bars, but I agree with you, they'd match my look a little better.
Zombie - I've always loved the blue & silver 2-tone like yours - and the Red & Black. This paint set came up on eBay I thought it was what I was lookin' for.
Sorry to resurect this old thread, but have been away for a couple days and didn't want y'all to think I was ignoring your posts.
Beach bars, detach bags, dual fishtails, chromed forks.. I'd be trying to buy it from you.
Also chrome controls, stainless cables, maybe some teardrop mirrors or similar. oh yeah!
Actually.. I would seriously like to know more about that paint setup. not to detract from the topic of the thread. Might be a subject for your other thread or a new one just about that paint job. The catalog doesn't do the color possibilities justice for the factory two tone custom shop. It's really making me consider giving it some thought.
