I've been reading / researching for the last couple of months for the items for my stage 1 upgrade for my '09 CrossBones. To this point I've only made my mind up on V&H BigShots.
I can't make up my mind on going with a download / fuel pack / power commander. Leaning toward going with the download. Knowing myself, this will not be the end so Pros / Cons?
Also, I can't decided on the air cleaner. I like the Heavy Breathers, just don't think they go with the look I want for MY xbones. So I'm leaning to the AE / RDS / VO2 / A. Ness type filters. I like the idea of being able to change the covers on the Ness derby sucker. Pros / Cons?
I run the V&H BSS, with stage 1 and the EFI is remapped. The bike runs good. If you wanna do this the best way add a power commander or something similar.
From what I have read the new power commander is the way to go. Load a map into it, plug it in and reprogram your bikes computer, then disconnect. No extra hardware attached to your bike. As far as air cleaners, I would see if there is a map to support it, unless you want to pay for tuning. Many people on this board have commented that the download from dealer doesn't work very well.
I have the PCV from fuelmoto it's very versatile and I would highly recommend it especially if you have engine mods planned for the future for the $300 investment now vs paying for a download it's well worth the extra bucks.
