Ill never give up my heel shifter. You cant power shift with a toe shifter. I have won many light to light races by power shifting with the heel shifter. To each their own...
I'm NOT a light to light racer (Don't have too many in my neck of the woods to worry about!) but I have gotten very used to shifting UP with my heel DOWN. When I first rode it in 2004 I wasn't sure about it but now I couldn't imagine riding without it. As Phat said...... To each his own!!
Besides the thing catching my heel, longevity was the reason I got rid of at least the pedal off of mine. You'll not catch me "power shifting" my tranny, ever. I bought a sporty once that had an owner who liked to ride that way: first thing I had to replace was the guts of the tranny. Second was actually shot.
It's not powershifting that won light to light races on a Harley.

As a long time drag racer you will never win a race granny shifting. That i know for sure.....any more questions....?

Being a drag racer too (cars and crotch rockets), theres no way your gonna sit on this internet forum and bullshit that your able to power shift quicker by using a heel shifter, are you ****ing kidding me??? Tells me sir you dont know how to properly power shift a bike...(ie; being at wide open throttle and preloading the TOE shifter by applying upward pressure, then when read to shift "blip" the throttle allowing the next gear to come quickly and smoothly..) While im not saying your method is slow, an upward toe shift is natural, a clunky down press of your heel is not...Like said, to each his own...If you ever around Houston, Id love to provide you an example

Are you serious....? A clunky down press are kidding me. I dont "BLIP" the throttle its wide open when i shift ! ! Really...If you every around Canton look me up..Ill take you to school. Remember there is no such thing as a fast Harley, mine is just faster than yours.....By the way i love the looks of bike regardless. We can agree to disagree.

Ah yea man, its all in good fun, everyone has a preference. I cruise on the harley with the occassional stop light to stop light, but I haul *** on the R1 or in my vette. Thanks for the props on the sled.
Racers actually use a reverse shifter in MotoGP events etc. The downward motion is much faster. Note that these are not street bikes. I don't know enough about drag racing to know what kind of shifters they use.
The heel and toe shifter is obviously akin to religion or politics. I have gotten used to it on my X bones, but rode with the "normal" type for 25 years. Frankly, I like the look of the heel and toe on my 'Bones.
You are correct, most GP style road racers use a reverse (down) shift pattern with a TOE shifter...Competitive drag racers use an air shifter, so no need to worry bout toe, heel, regular, reverse lol. Back on topic, WHO HAS PICS OF AFTERMARKET HEEL OR TOE and BRAKE LEVERS. lol
