If you have any experience with this i would like to here your feedback and thanks in advance....
Hello, I have an 04 Fatboy turned something of a heritage. Wanted a streetglide for the fairing and radio. Went with a Reckless fairing. Couldn't be happier. They painted and it was all set up when I recieved it. Went on the factory windshield mounts. Just had to wire into the harness. Made my new bike fever go away. hth.
Thanks for the quick responce....I hate to ask but could you post a pic of it?? I am looking at 1 on ebay and the price is rite so i may do it....I would like to start project rite away so it will be comple before spring...Thanks again
There are quite a few brands of aftermarket fairings. I have not put one on my ride so my knowledge on them is rather limited. Here are a few brands for you to look up. Hoppe, Tsukayu, Woodie's, and I am sure there are quite a few more.
These are just a couple of companies that make fairings. I am using Woodys and love it. The red fatboy at the bottom with the 4x10 speakers is mine. I have some better pics since those where from mock up. To answer your question about a street glide fairing it is yes and no. The softails and touring bikes have different front end angles/ rack. The factory fairings on the touting models are more vertical than the after market ones. Also the mounting points are a little different. It would be like taking a softail windshield and putting it on a RK or the other way just wont work. If you are good you can fab new brackets to allow for the proper angle so you dont "push" the air if that makes sense. I would recommend at least calling Woody. He is vary knowledgeable on this subject and explained it to me more in depth, so sorry if this doesnt all make sense. He helped design the hoppe fairings. If you need more pics let me know via pm and I can email them to you. Good luck. By the way I can take mine off in less than 2 minutes, goes on and off like a windshield just an extra electrical connection for the stereo. Good luck.
OK...so i bought the reckless fairing.I started my mock today and the hardware they said to purchase for the stack windshield is not quite lining up...i put the bracket into the bottom studs and tilt up to put it into the top studs and they are a good quarter inch off on both sides?? does yours do this? Or are you supposed to bolt the top?
