Finally got my Rocker (that I've been eyeballin for over a year) for Christmas. Now looking at all the add ons. Got a couple questions about the Thundermax with Autotune for the Rocker:
1.) Which Thundermax model will work? Is it the TBW version?
2.) Where the hell does it mount? I've seen the install videos for Softails but the Rocker doesn't seem to have much room under the seat.
I've been lurking around/researching on this forum for awhile, but didn't feel like I could post until I actually became a Harley owner. I will be ordering the K&N Aircharger, V&H Big Radius and the Tmax with AT. I want the Tmax because some time down the road I will do a cam swap and don't want to pay for multiple dyno tunes. I would appreciate any advice you can give.
1. This is the model you want, unless your bike has the throttle-by-wire option. Then, you'll want the TBW model.
2. It will mount where your current ECM is mounted. If your current ECM is mounted under the seat, and there is enough room for that, there will be enough room for the T-Max.
I would also recommend you visit this site and become a member. There are some people there who are very knowledgeable about the T-Max and can help you out, in the event that you have questions or need technical assistance on it, if you are planning to install and calibrate it yourself.
Good luck!

The Ecm is mounted in front of the rear fender rock guard. It can be fun to get to. You should get the service manual. Money well spent.
Zippers customer service is great. I called and got the recommended map. Then I sent my readings a couple of times and they tweeked them for me. Very fast response.
Thanks for the help Drew. Could I order from you through my dealership? I got them to throw in some accessory $ when I bought the bike. They said I can use it on anything I can order through the parts guy at the dealership. I tried ordering from Fuel Moto, but they wouldn't sell to the dealer.
I gave them my wish list and they quoted prices to me. Didn't even seem to blink an eye. Actually suggested the PCV over the T'Max just because they had experience with them. Thats why I need to hurry up and get this thing did before they change their mind.
I have the thundermax on my rocker. MAKE SURE that whoever you order it through specifies that it is for a rocker!!! There is a separate procedure for jumping out the connector for the ecm so their programming cable will work with the rocker. The reason is the diagnostic port on the thundermax is impossible to get to once it is mounted in the bike. The normal big twin kits don't come with the necessary adapter. I love the ease of programming this thing. My autotune module took a dump early this year and I just got around to sending it back for warranty. (I hope). The tech dept. is awesome! Very helpfull. They even helped my bypass the autotune so I could ride it in the meantime.
Most dealers won't sell you a Tmax at all. Replacing their stock ECM is a no no in most of their books.
Depends on the dealership my Thundermax autotune was installed and tuned by the dealer before the bike left the shop. I had the SE Heavy Breather and the Thunderheader and the Thundermax put on as soon as I bought the bike.
