Default Security Question...

Posting here b/c I believe this section gets more views. I just purchased an 08 Heritage. It has the factory security, w/ a siren. However when I have the fob in my pocket and I sit on the bike and move it a bit, the siren chirps. Is this normal or do I need to do a little programming to get her to act right?

Deffinately replace the battery before it leaves you stranded trying to figure out the bypass process.

I believe the battery is good. I've started several times and rode a few times over the past few days. How can I check to determine if my battery is good or bad? To me as long as its holding a charge and starting, I assume its good.

After posting, I realized everyone was mentioning the fob battery not bike battery. In regards to the fob, I have put both sets of keys/fob in the windshield bag and the bike did the same thing. Still a fob problem????

chirping is normal, it means alarm deactivated. when HD installs it they programm it to either chirp or not chirp.

Your bike security system is in what the factory calls "chirp mode". Just like a car alarm will chirp when activated (opening or closing doors). It is made to chirp when you sit on it. To get it to chirpless mode, the manual says to cycle through three armings and disarmings to change the mode. Make sure when you turn the ignition off you switch it back on before the turn signals flash. Good luck.
