Im about 6ft1, would it be a good idea to get the forward controls on my 09 Train? Im in Iraq and cant get to the bike to kinda estimate what it will be like.
Not having forward controls is like driving a column stick. It can be done but it does not compare to state-of-the-art. If you are not going to have the bike modified until you come back take it in and see what feels best. No hurry since you can't ride it until then. Thanks for your service! Ride safe.
There are many different makes of controls out there, You just need to figure out what reach works best for you and what style you like best and continue that with your grips, pegs, mirrors etc. It's a sickness man.........And money is the cure !!!!
Be safe over there and THANK YOU !!!!!!!
To the OP, all Night Trains come with forward controls, so I'm guessing you're asking about forward control extensions? I'm 6'1" and have the Cycle Visions 2" extensions - it's perfect now! This profile pic will give you an idea how much 2" moves them:
RE the Harley ones, they are complete replacement units (no extension plates)... thus why they cost so much more.
