I had been wanting to put a Cateye Dash on my Deluxe for awhile now. A member here bought one but ran into some problems with his risers hitting it and offered me a deal on the parts.
I had to make a small bracket to move the mounting bolt down about an inch or so, but other than that it was a real easy install.
Here are some pics.
I sure wish Harley had finished the weld on the Tank. I would run it just the way it is in the pics if they had. My brother dabbles in leather work, and told me he will make me a panel for it...at least it won't be costing me anything!!!!
I will probably run it bare for awhile. Not only did Harley not finish the weld, they left a particle of some sort in the paint as well where the tank panel would cover it.
The weld does not look that bad like most of you say, but just think how nice it would look all cleaned up!!!
My guess is $300.00 to fix and paint it. Any other guesses?
Viking, and idea what parts are involved compared to the stock dash that it replaces? i thought about doing this myself, i think it works better with the classic look of the Deluxe.
