I went with the PCV and had the bike dyno tuned at a Dynojet Approved Power Commander Tuning Center. I did not go with the Harley race tuner because I did not want the Stealer to touch or screw up my bike and also pay their outrageous prices.
Also, some dealers will not tune outside EPA parameters. So you would still be lean and not at optimum performance.

I went with the SE Pro Super Tuner, tuned by a dealer that I trust and have had very good results with the tune on my 2010 Street Glide.
My experience with this dealer has been so good that I will be taking my 2006 Street Bob to them to have the SE 120R tuned later this month. This bike only has the SERT installed but they guy doing the tuning advises me it is capable of tuning even the SE 120R.
They key is the tuner's comfort and skill with the tuning device.
Anyone can get on the dyno and half *** tune a bike. I'd do plenty of research on who you want to tune the bike. I talked to the guy that tuned my bike at the dealer and I found out that he did R&R for S&S engines....he explained a lot of things to me and discussed my riding habits and what I wanted. In the end, I felt really comfortable with him tuning the bike and I got 75hp and 90tq from a stage 1 upgrade.
Are there any independant tuners in your area, or is the dealership your only option? If you have multiple tuners, ask around to see who is comfortable with which device. Once you pick the guy you're going with, listen to their recommendation. If the dealer is your only choice, go with what they say. It does no good to buy a tuning device that no one in your area uses, knows how to use, or is comfortable with.

In his opinion a bike only needs dyno'd at wide open throttle, he states no need for several pulls to adjust the power curve. Not to sure if he is just used to drag bikes or what. And the price he quotes i would only spend about $20 more to go to dealer.
There's a lot of choices and most seem to be happy with 'theirs'. Friends of mine have the Race Tuner and it seems fine. I went with PC-V for ease of installation and to keep the dealer/dyno out of it.

That guy IS NOT a tuner.....He's just another guy who owns a dyno. Where are you located?
I read an article on 5 questions you should ask the dealer when purchasing a SERT on your bike with dyno to ensure they know what they are doing.
So I went to the dealer within my area to see what the cost would be for the SERT w/ dyno and thought I would ask the questions just to see what the response was.
When I asked the questions about the dyno I was given 10 different answers, none of them were the answers given in the article I read. Now I don't know if I should bother with the SERT or just get the pc-v.
