Default dumb harley screamin eagle race tuner question. help please?

I ordered my crossbones with stage I and it arrived with the new pipes and air cleaner all obvious to the eye and installed. I assumed it also had the screaming eagle race tuner 'installed'. However, i just opened the box containing my old stock pipes and in it I also found the s/e race tuner in a box and the tuner cable in an unopened bag. Does this mean it has not been installed or do they just program the ECM with the tuner and you get to keep it in a box for further upgrades - i.e. its not actually on the bike itself???

Help please?

S

Yup, they just use the tuner to upgrade the ECM, it does not get installed on the bike. They didn't open the bag of the tuner cable as they use their own.

Just make sure you do not misplace the box and the cable for future use.

I believe you can buy the CD so you can do upgrades yourself too. (not 100% sure about that)

That's how I understand it too. I didn't even buy the cables as they are using their own to install mine today.
