When you disconnect the battery? Or between rides?
Mine has maintained the clock since I got the bike back in Oct. But I have never run the battery dead or disconnected the battery for any reason. Hell its still an hour ahead.....I didn't change it for DST.
I would imagine its just like a car battery. Let it go dead or take it out and your car clock loses its memory and resets....
sorry for not being clear. The original speedo has a clock function, and I was wondering if the new spedo/tach has a clock function as well. I really like the clock, and don't want to loose it if I install the new unit (not clear on the Harley web site).
Yeah, that was the major drawback to installing the color-matched speedo on mine - for whatever reason Harley didn't retain the clock function for that unit and it still pisses me off. Not enough to switch back though, as I love the tach and the pretty color at night!

You guys should just have your LEDs on your stock gauges replaced with whatever color you chose and you could keep the clock. The new harley gauges look cool no doubt. Cheaper to change the color if thats what your looking for. I have done many of the color changes on the stock gauges and they look pretty good. Have included pic of my '11 deluxe gauge. Not a good pic but you can get the idea. Can get a better pic if anyone is interested.
