Default Brake lights stuck on?

My break lights are stuck on. It is the handlebar switch doing it. Do these things where out? When I did my controls last year I used a piece of cardboard and they worked great until now. I have to wiggle the lever to make them go off and that is only if I am lucky to get them to go off. The bike is less than a yr old so is this something that the dealer will fix under warranty? Any tricks I might be missing here?
Any help would be great.

Dealer - exercise the warranty and take that cardboard out before you get there

Maybe your brakes are just taking a break...
Sounds like a grounding issue...

I had the same problem when I put on my apes. I found my problem was the front brake lever since I had it powder coated wasn't hitting the switch so I added a little adhesive to the lever to bump it out in that spot. Hope this helps.

Dealer here doesn't warranty front brake switches. They say too many guys break them when changing grips and bars. Squeeze the lever and look behind it with a flashlight and you should be able to see the plunger. If it sits even with the rubber boot around it then the **** on the end has been broken off. You can screw a #4 3/8" machine screw on the end or buy this replacement http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...#ht_3758wt_937. Lots of guys have had good luck with the machine screw.

The switch has most likely came loose in the control housing. Check that 1st.

take a close look at the little brass wedge that holds the switch in place. real tight fit, and easy to not get "just right". steve
