I'm so glad I don't own a home. LOL. I could have a house or a Harley. Guess what I chose? LOL

Come on, I think you know what you should do. Pay your insurance and sell your computer to buy your risers. You won't want use your computer after you get raked across the coals for this question! Gotta have goals!

Either house insurance is way cheaper than I thought or those are some expensive risers. Get some cheap used risers from ebay AND buy the insurance.

Depends on the risers. I can't imagine paying that much for risers. Either that or you have some real cheap house insurance.. Besides that, don't you have a fairing?
Got any pics?

Local HD dealer quoted me about $600 for risers and cable work. Roughly the same as my semi-annual house insurance payment. I have a fairing, yes, but I need the bars back and a little up. I'm getting a lot of shoulder and upper back pain. I may just buy them on ebay and do the work myself, like the above suggestion.

I'll send some pics....

it is hard to believe that a grown man would ask this question. you have obligations. the motorcycle is not a necessity...it is a luxury. pay the insurance. get on the dave ramsey plan for financial peace. if your budget is this tight, maybe you should not have a motorcycle at all. JMO
