I'm 5 11 and running 12.5 Chubbys on 1.5 risers, got a low C&C seat and the bars are kicked forward. I think seat height, risers and bar position have alot to do with what size you should get. I bent up some wire and sat on the bike and pretty much figured what would work for me..good luck, lots of nice bars on the market to choose from...and yeah...whatever you do, get those poly bushings!

I'd agree with that since I stopped at one of the local dealerships last night and played with one of their demo bikes, which allows one to swap out both seats and handlebars. Trying out one set of handlebars felt completely different depending on which seat I used.

I met a few 20 something year old military "medical" retirees overseas who contracted a mean case of something--they wouldn't let them come back to the states or at least that is want they informed me.

Not controls, but bars, cables and lines sounds about right.

I am 6' and run 16" chubbys. I'm sure I would have gangsters if they weren't so pricey. Maybe someday. Just an opinion but probably cheaper in the long run to get what you like best the first time.

My local dealer quoted me $1000- $1500 for 16" apes! I called drew (dr. Vtwin) for half that, dealers are unbelievable!

Both brands are great brands. Go with what makes you comfortable. I am 5'11" and my last bike i ran 18" apes and they were only about level with my shoulders. It depends on how low your seat is. Also you should check local laws to make sure you wont get pulled over. I live in Iowa and if I rode my last bike into south dakota I would get a ticket with the 18's. Every state is different. I now have wild 1 chubby drags and love them. I also wanted to just comment and say thank you to all of you on here that has served or are still serving. Without you guys, we would have nothing. Good luck! and be safe.

On my iron I went with 14" and changed the height with the risers for inspections, cheaper and easier to change riser than bar

I'm on a Lo and stand 6'7" tall.

I am running the Roland Sands 16" apes with a 3" riser....

Super comfortable!
