That is certainly one option. If it works, great. I got my UltraCool fan assisted oil cooler put on last week and finally got out for a ride with it yesterday. Teh fan is water resistant (don't drop it in bucket of water and leave it there and expect it to still work). This kit is really nicely thought out and teh fan comes on at 210 degrees. Well, I have no oil temp gauge but I rode for quite a while yesterday and it seemed to work great. It blends in nicely with the bike on the down tubes and all goes together as it should. Grated it is not inexpensive, it does the trick. I can't wauit to see how it works when I get out to Laughlin as where I regualrfly ride it does not really get that warm and I split lanes regularly. Nevada and Arizona = no lane splitting which is like torture to me.

I've had my eye on these and have been waiting to see the new softail version. Their website is still showing a picture of the touring 'big box' model for the softail. This is the first pic I've seen, thanks. Do you have any other shots from different angles?

I can get some more today. I gave it nice testing last weekend but it was not warm enough for the fan to even come on. It fits really nice. By the way my clutch cable is what is wrapping around the front of the cooler, that is not part of it.
The way I see it is that this will keep it cool no matter what what, especially if you are siting in traffic. Although I rarely sit in traffic i figured a little extra security cannot hurt. I'll post some pics up this morning when it gets light outside. I sell them at a nice discount as well. I also would like some chrome trim for this but am not sure if they have any available yet as this version just came out.
i kinda think that you're missing the jist of this thread Drew, as it's not about an expensive fan assisted oil cooler that you also " sell at a discount ". alot of us run oil coolers, i run an Oil Bud that's down underneath the frame that's a very effective heat sink, & my oil temps very seldom reach 210deg even in summer
this thread is about a fan, that actually pushes massive amounts of air ( much more than the lenale ) over your jugs/heads & keeps them from building the heat initially, instead of trying to remove the heat thru the oil after it's already too hot from stops/heavy traffic, & is home built & relatively cheap

Woah.... you are taking on "Dr. V Twin" ....THE BIG MFIC....he knows all .... says all...has an opinion on everything. How dare you scold big Drew WHEN HE IS OFF TOPIC TRYING TO SELL ONE OF HIS WARES?
I am simply trying to point out there are other options for fans on your ride. Sorry for teh Hi Jack. Of course I have an opinion on everything. Don't we all?

it's all good bro, was just pointing out the differences between the two, one efficiently removes the heat before it gets hot enough to cook the oil, the other cools down the cooked oil
