the black line looks like a sportster and a softail bred for the price i seen on the tag there is a better bike out there than the blackline.

my 2c.. Harley needs to put out more lower cost bikes and this is one of them.. its to get 1st time buyers into the HD family... i have seen the new black line... from a Touring side - well... its worth a try..and i dont like it... i think this is what HD is doing.. testing the market and wanting a younger crowd to get into the HD feeling without the high cost of a touring bike... i think its a smart move.... lets see if it will work !... you USA guys have great pricing on HD's compared to Canada and abroad as well as insurance and Plate fees... where its a killer here just for a few months of riding !

I like the Blackline in all black. Only thing I don't care for is the 144mm rear tire. Wish they would put a 200 on it. There will be mods later where people are throwing a 200 on them I am hoping.

Blackline is on my list of 3 new bikes I have on my short list if I can't find a Night Train with low miles.

Sorry to hear about your fire, and losses, I know your pain.

The way I see it like others already said, there is a difference in feel/performance between the A & B engines.

As far as style, you will get opinions as far as everyone's tastes in the looks, and what could/should be modded.

Here's mine, haha - I don't care for the weiner bars and tank filler trim. Not enough meat on the *** is my other. Just my opinions, but whatever you prefer in style and mods is all that counts.

Good luck with your recovery.

I saw one in person at my local dealership on Saturday. I'm not a fan of the looks. On another note, the price was CRAZY! $20k? Really? The sticker said MSRP was like $15988 for the 2-tone + freight + set-up + another $2k for "paint option." I think it's the dealer trying to get an extra $2k out of some unsuspecting customer, because the $15988 price IS for the paint option.

I think it looks better in black also. I'm fine with the rear tire width and think they did a good job on the rear fender but that tag mount on the end of it ruins it. Can't figure out why they didn't use a side mount. Easy enough to fix. I'm slowly warming up to the bars and speedo placement.

Rear fender is nice, side plate should of been used, speedo is in a shitty location. it looks like it has a longer wheelbase. That might be nice. I didnt care for those bars, I would rather see some tall T bars and a fairing.

If they would keep it under 17k it should sell really well. But leave it to harley to jack up the price over a paint job.

I wouldnt mind taking one for a test drive next time im at harley just for ***** and giggles.

Just my 2 cents.

I say skip the black line, since its still a new bike.

MSRP is $15K, so any dealer jacking it up to $17k or even $20k is just hurting themselves.

Most of the guys who will be interested in the Blackline are younger with less established credit and not a long time in their careers/job market. So if you slap them with $2-5k over the MSRP they will walk away and look at a Dyna or a used Softail.

Just do some research before you buy, but that is advice we all know. I am talking from experience as someone burned by the dealer for about $2k over what I should have paid. Good thing I love my damn bike.
