Where the dash goes there is a plate where you go to pull out the tank guts you will have to patch that up and cut something out in the bottom for access the pump and what not

Thanks for pointing that out for me! It looks really well made, however, I want to stick with a wide, low Fat Boy style tank rather than a tall, narrow Sporster style tank.

I think that one by Washington Choppers looks pretty good. I can live with having two holes and nothing down the middle, as long as the center is pretty low profile. Somewhere I saw a Fat Boy type tank with a low profile center console and it just had a single large flush mounted gas cap in the center. Can't find it now, of course, and the more I think about it, the more I am thinking I'd rather go with the two holes on the sides. I like the flush mount gas cap and fuel level indicator I saw from HD. Should make it easier to find a replacement, too. Maybe I can just find some sort of blank tank panel and use my existing tank with it.

Wabbit I think you should just get a used bike an custom that out t would be easier on the wallet. If you get air ride it's going to ride lower then the new lo's anyways and you can alway paint yours flat black

Does the Washington Chopper piece cover the fuel pump?
If so... I need one!

If you want to replace the tank....
Check out Roland Sands...makes a fuel pump that mounts in the bottom of the tank....
http://www.rolandsandsdesignparts.co...px?display=930

then you just have to find the tank....

I found what I want for a bike, there are just a few things I want to change. No flared fenders and no center console dash. The other stuff will be pretty easy.

The tank they show doesn't have anything sticking out of the tank, so I don't know if it is different from the stock tank. I've never seen a picture of the HD tank without the console. Check out the page, it's pretty good looking.

I couldn't find the fuel pump on the Roland Sands page, but I am thinking I may be able to use a stock tank and mod the center console area, hopefully.

The Washington chopper piece will cover the fuel pump access andnis not designed as a "bolt on" for soft ails, but can easily be made to fit from what ive heard. I got rid of my gas gauge, filled that hole, and made a center strip piece to cover the fuel pump access. I don't run a speedo and I just moved my ignition. I searched and searched for other options to no avail.

Man, that looks really nice, exactly what I am looking for. Did you manage to get that to work on a stock tank?

Do you have any closer pics of the tank? I'd also like to see how you relocated the ignition.
Thanks!

Does the Fat Boy Lo use a Fat Bob tank? I see a lot of info for those.

Yup it's a stock tank. If u look REAL close at this next pic, you can see my keys hanging out of the ignition. Look in between the oil tank and the passenger peg and you can make them out. It's just a generic keyed ignition switch on a little metal tab that bolts to the strut.
