Id get it with the ABS and Security option.

Id try to deal for the extended warranty with tire option if available in your area and a
10 or 20 percent parts discount for first 30 days. or a gift card

Most people responding are recommending things to ask for at the time of purchase. Those are all good ideas. I'll go in another direction. Once you have the bike, my favorite add-ons for my heritage were the quick detach backrest sideplates and quick detach saddle bag mounts. With those you can change the character of the bike in a few seconds. There are others, like a different seat, but the option to remove the backrest and saddlebags are a good start.

My local dealer where I use to live, told me they do not haggle, you pay full sticker in there shop. Most dealers always throw in a 500.00 gift card, but I would search around and buy an used one, you will save a ton of money! Lot of great deals still out there, shop around!

Got ours new in 07.. old man here and I love the leather. Had to have the Heritage.

1st thing I had to add was for the wife on the rear was, - [Touring - (seat, backrest, and floorboards)], made a,, HUGE,, difference for her comfort back there.

Nothing else needed changed, love my seat and bars.

1K service, did stg 1, needed some pipes, love the Rush 2", SE A/C, SERT, dyno tune.

At 15+ service did Andrews 26H cams.. Highly, Highly,, recommend cams, don't have to be what I got, But U won't believe the difference till U ride one thats changed out
the stock EPA chokers cams. U'll get a 15-20% increase in TQ and HP, plus better mileage, cooler oil temp and a lot more fun...

Also after U get 1k I'd switch to whatever syn oil U like, after trying several tranny oils I am now sold on using a GL 75-90 instead of 20-50 motor oil or GL 75-140, is was to heavy for our IND weather.

Just this yr added PA-PA bags inserts.. there great also.

OH yeah... and about $2k worth of chrome goodies make her look good too.

4yrs and 30k+ and we still love her just as much as the 1st day we brought her home.

I plan on visiting 3 diffrent shops to talk with about buying my Bike, Gonna try for the best deal possible. With the market the way it is they should be willing to deal under sticker price and throw in some extras.

I like the leather look as well. I dont plan on doing too many mods for the first year or so I want to ride it and get a feel of what I really want in a bike!

Does HD have a CB/Intercom package or do i need to look into a chatterbox type of gadget?

Question. Why are you so determined to buy new? If it is financing you can get that for any used bike through Harley and be approved online. After buying new and seeing the deals on bikes barely rode I would never buy new again. Save yourself some cash!

Had a bad experience buying a used car once, didnt like not having dealer support or a warranty. I have looked at used and there is one 05 Heritage I have my eye on listed on ebay but 13k for it is too much. 6 year old bike and only 3k less than msrp on a brand new one.

Have you checked the bikes for sale on here or Craigslist? Okay, you got burned on a car, but a late model Harley is a different cup o tea, especially if it only has pipes, ac, and fuel controller. Very good motors. Your decision bro, just sayin it ain't all that great payin' the dealer. Good luck on whatever you choose, I am sure you will be in HOG Heaven.

Want to take a look at Ebay item number 230584929854 and tell me what you think I should offer for it? 13,995 is too much for a 6 year old bike in my oppinion. It is low mileage and chromed out though.

I have to agree. At least before you buy new, search every bike you can find (it takes weeks) of the model that you want before you buy new.

There are some good deals out there. I have two bikes, one I bought new and just love it and the other I bought new because I wanted a first of it's kind HD which is the lo.
