yeah I have seen one in person while in Salt Lake City. My dealer here had one apparently and it sold immediately. I did not like the one I saw in person at all. I sat on it and it felt ok, but the bars were terrible. There are some cool features of the bike, but not enough to make me want one.

My thoughts exactly. But.. HD is not all that wrong in the direction they went with the bike, along with the advertisement that came with it. They are definately catching a younger generations eyes (me) If i had never bought my bike, i would be really debating the blackline.
The bars are a turn off,
The photos seem like they relocated the coil and got rid of the seat post ? is that true ? looks really nice.
Also did you say the bike base price include the ABS ? that is a good deal I think !.
Nah i don't believe it included ABS, sorry for the confusion. I shoulda got a better look at the sticker. maybe ill stop back in for a closer look
I saw one at a local dealer a few weeks ago...it looked like someone threw a bunch of spare parts together, the welds on the frame were sloppy and the frame's finish was rough...
Harley is famous for throwing together a bin full of parts and "creating a new bike". Hell, they have 31 models so they better do something like that.
I saw the Blackline. Eh, it is pretty cool. The gloss black on the engine is actually pretty cool. The license plate tag....UGLY!!!!
I just don't see how $15,900 is an entry point on a motorcycle. This is supposed to be stripped down and it is still $15,900. Well, what do I know? Buy a Sportster I guess if you can't afford a Softail.
Finally got down the the dealership to look at the blackline..
Few of the goods imo: All the black, it seems the moco has listened up a bit and done some of the things that a lot of us tend to do to on our own rides. Things such as the lower forks and rear turn signals. It's just enough black to set it off. not overkill. The dash looks amazing with that low profile look. the feel when you sit on it really feels like the night train that i ride.
What I didn't like: bars.. just a little weird but it could grow on me. Don't know if i could ever grow to like the speedo on the bars, I kinda wish they would have done the whole engine in the night train look.
Overall I think it is a great looking ride with tons of potential to be a sick scoot.
Price tag.. for the orange/black with abs ran right about 15,900 i believe. This dealer added a set of V&H 2-1 with a SE ac, added about 2,700 to the price tag and with set up and everything OTD was like right under 21,000.
I can't wait for someone on here to get one and mod it out, unfortunately, i don't believe I would be up to it. I'll keep the train.
I find the Speedo on my train to be a little low and where it is mounted on the Blackline is nice, just a quick glance rather that moving your head. I thought it was pretty comfortable, even though the bars are different. Hate the skinny tire though, that is just weak.
There is an article in this quarter's HOG magazine about it. When you see the sketches that the designer was after, you will also probably see that the things you don't like are what the 'committee' at HD did to the original design. The bars in the original were cool, but probably too clamshell style riding to sell to everyone. I like the speedo where it is... just like a bunch of the bikes I have owned. I don't like the two toned engine, either. They also should have just bit the bullet and completed the Nightster upsizing and used the Nighter's rear fender, too... but that wouldn't have fit out of the parts bin.
I think that if you're going to buy one, do the customzing on line and order it the way that you want it from the factory. You will like the money invested much better.

P.S. I went to look and you can't use the custom dealer order on a blackline yet.
I saw it at the dealer for the first time Monday. I thought it was alright. A few details need work starting with the tag mount. Can't for the life of me figure out why they didn't side mount it like the one on the Wide Glide. They had orange, I would have liked to have seen a black one. Salesman said they haven't sold any yet.
