Changing cams will only void the warranty on the cams themselves. Now if the new cams are proven to be at fault causing other parts to fail, then the warranty on them parts will also be voided.

True. By law the only thing that can be voided in a warranty is any damage that was caused by the aftermarket parts. If, for instance, the crank pin goes south it's under warranty unless the shop can prove the damage was caused by the cams.
