So here's a question - dont most states require the plate to be lit at night? I know the tail lite has a clear section, but I'm guessing with that plate orientation the LEOs who want to mess with you will have an excuse. Just sayin...

It's not on their site yet, but HD just started selling the Kuryaken laydown plate in either chrome or black. Of course...I bought this 6 months ago and had to have it powder coated black. But this is perfect for the LO. http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/382...se-Plate-Mount.

Totally agree that the hogrida plate mount is the way to go. I have had one on my 08 Fatboy for 2 years now and think its one of the best looking mods I have. I did find when I installed it I had to "tweak" the curve of the plate by hand just ever so slightly. As far as the amount of light on the plate given by the tail light I have never had a problem with that either. You can't beat the price either.

I wanted some more chrome to accent my black paint so I went with the kryakan curved laydown plate.

No worries, that plate can be seen by LEO. If you are worried about it they have plate screws that have LED lights in them that shoot down over the plate!
