So I just ordered a new 2011 Deluxe and I'm trying to work out which mod I should do first (well, really second as I just got a Roadhouse Classic Exhaust ).
I'm tossing up between a new seat (LePera Bare Bones Hot Rod) or new suspension (probably Progressive 422s). I want to feel closer to the ground, which both will give me, but I'm not sure which makes the most sense to do first.
I just got the 422's for mine (not installed yet) so I'd say them over the seat. You'll get a better ride until you get the seat, and you can adjust them to your ride height and maybe not need the seat.
Best looking mod for me was the chrome lower forks, makes a huge difference in looks.

Thoughts?
Lets see. Mod to do first? Apes, wheels, pipes, power commander, intake, seat, air ride, softbrake, and lots of CHROME.$$$$$$$$$ Welcome to the club.
Stone
well my first mod was my apes. But Im a Big Fella. So that made it more comfortable for me to ride, while I waited on other mods. If your wanting to do one of the two, then I would agree with Kozy, do the 422s
I would go with seat first then save for shotgun shocks. Unless you never see yourself spending that kind of money and in that case I would go for used 422's from one of the guys on the forum who has gone shotgun.
For me it's always pipes FIRST...THEN chrome sprocket and polished rotors.....THEN chrome front end..... Those items IMO make the biggest splash with a new bike.... Then I can do the little stuff such as chrome the hand controls/front master cylinder, windshield, do something with the foot controls, SEAT, passenger pegs, lower belt cover, etc, etc...
Congrats on the new bike. I got the same bike a week ago Friday in Root beer. Loving it so far it was a little chilly 48 riding into work today but going up to 75.
I would go with what will make your bike ride better. Shotgun shocks would be my first mod choice after adding an Engine Guard.
My first mod was the Engine Guard. Right now I have the Shotgun shock air ride ready to be put on this weekend. Samson true duals are coming today to be put on this weekend. Waiting for my HogDeluxe solo bag to be finished.
